The whole decision is a pure-Dart ReviewGate with no Flutter, plugin or platform imports, so the hard part, deciding when to ask, is unit-testable on CI. The plugin sits behind a seam, and progress is persisted with SharedPreferences. The attempt is stored before awaiting the native call, and the PlatformException is caught, because the app cannot know whether the dialog was shown.
The skill enforces the store rules directly: the prompt is never button-triggered, never preceded by a question, and nothing is gated on the result. It targets Android, iOS and macOS, and renders an explicit disabled state on web where the feature is unavailable.
Frequently asked questions
Can I trigger the review prompt from a button?
Not for requestReview, because both stores throttle it and Apple discourages prompts tied to a tap. A button should call openStoreListing instead, which opens the store page directly. The in-app prompt is triggered from a success event behind the gate.
Can the app tell whether the user rated?
No. Neither store reports whether the dialog appeared or what the user chose. That is why the skill persists the attempt before the native call and relies on a cooldown and caps instead of any assumed outcome.
